چکیده
Adipose tissue (AT) acts as a highly active endocrine organ, which secretes wide range of adipokine hormones. In the past few years, several adipokines (leptin, adiponectin, resistin etc.) have been discovered showing metabolic consequences in relation to insulin resistance (IR), obesity and diabetes. These are considered be an important component playing role regulation energy metabolism. They shown involved pathogenesis syndrome (MetS) cardiac diseases. The current article provides holistic summary recent knowledge on emphasizes their importance association with IR, obesity, diabetes MetS. Adipokines such leptin, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) array functions disease associated it, e.g. appetite balance body, suppression atherosclerosis liver fibrosis, type 2 (T2D) IR. An adipokine, Interleukin-6 (IL-6), also correlates positively human IR elevated level IL-6 predicts development T2D. All these hormones correlation homeostasis, glucose lipid metabolism, cardiovascular function immunity. possible connections extended biological emphasis AT secreted investigator MetS, now no longer only storage site.

Obesity, insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome.
There has been a remarkable increase in interest during the past two decades in the relation between cardiovascular risk factors in children and the development of arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and type 2 diabetes in adulthood. Initial studies concentrated on individual factors such as lipids and blood pressure. However, as research in this areahas evolvedandpediatricianshave ...
متن کاملIs the combined use of insulin resistance indices, including adipokines, more reliable in metabolic syndrome?
BACKGROUND/AIM To determine the levels of adipokines (leptin, adiponectin, resistin, and visfatin) and the indices of insulin sensitivity/ resistance, and to examine the relationship among them in patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS). MATERIALS AND METHODS The study groups included 45 subjects with MetS (31 women/14 men), and 45 sex- and age-matched non-MetS healthy volunteers (31 women/14...
متن کاملInsulin resistance and its association with metabolic syndrome components.
BACKGROUND Individuals with insulin resistance are more prone to the development of metabolic syndrome (MS), Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the association between insulin resistance (IR) and metabolic syndrome components. METHODS Cross-sectional study of 196 individuals between 2 and 18 years, treated at the Brazilian Public Healthcare system...
متن کاملCirculating adipokines and insulin resistance in subjects with combined cardiac and metabolic syndrome X
BACKGROUND Cardiac syndrome X (CSX) is characterized by angina pectoris but with patent coronary arteries. Our previous study showed that CSX subjects had decreased serum adiponectin but higher leptin and insulin resistance (IR). However, few studies have investigated circulating adipokines and IR in subjects with combined metabolic syndrome X (MetX) and CSX. METHODS Fifty-nine subjects with ...
متن کاملAssociation between serum levels of Adipokines and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder associated with metabolic disorders and infertility. Evidence suggests that the adipose tissue secreted products, adipokines, play an important role in the pathophysiology of PCOS. Reciprocally, PCOS influences on the adipokines serum content, also on gene or protein expression of some of them. Finding out of assoc...
